Arty Atkins was a fence, who was one of the victims of Cecil Rogers's Tuba. He drowned in the icy waters of the North Atlantic while lying in bed. He had stolen the tuba mere hours before. It is unclear who played the tuba and caused Atkins's death.
His partner in the theft was Johnny John.
